This astonishing piece of work took 6 afternoons to read. This novel was filled with adventure and unexpected turns. The world-known author surely lives up to his name. John Grisham’s book sales are comparable to authors such as J.K. Rowling’s with the Harry Potter Series. I was searching for a book that really put me in another world and encouraged creative thinking. Now during daily interactions, I can’t help but think what would Malcom–the protagonist—do. I give this book 5 stars.
A story worth telling! This book related to me in multiple ways. Dr. Mackie’s father reminded me so much of my grandfather. It is so much to learn from the wisdom of our elders. The wisdom received can be used in any walk of life. I used this as an overall personal and professional development guide. Many people go through their childhoods with no responsibility and lack of work ethic, however this book explains the perfect example of how hard-work can take you far. I also want to add that I was given the chance to hear Dr. Mackie speak in person, where I received the signed copy of this book. His book has urged me to check updates on his social media page, where he writes about his campaign of promoting STEM to our youth.
This book has really shed light on the things that Rich parents teach their kids that Poor parents don’t. I took alot from this book that I use daily. One of the first things I learned was to learn as much as I can about accounting and balancing out our money. I never really realized how important that was. Who knew actually paying attention to the amount of money we have coming in compared to the money we are spending could help us. His strongest point in the book is about obtaining assets not liabilities. He focuses on how we Americans think it’s the American dream to go to a good school, get a great job, and work our way up the corporate ladder. However, during this whole process, who are we mostly benefiting ? If we focus on buying more assets, things that make money for us, this is how wealth accumulates. His bread and butter has been real estate investing, and he made sure he worked enough jobs to afford this type of investing. That hardwork and dedication is something I admire. I encourage you all to buy this book if you can.
